The Village is analyzing infrastructure solutions to make the intersection of Dayton Street and Union Avenue safer for students, parents, and residents.

The Dayton Street and Union Avenue Study is currently evaluating options for intersection improvements to increase safety and improve comfort for people walking and biking, as well as easing traffic congestion during Cherry Creek Campus peak times. The project builds on the alternatives first identified in the Cherry Creek Campus Circulation Study (2021). This effort conducts feasibility analysis of each alternative that will consider right-of-way impacts, cost-benefit analysis, and construction costs estimates. The goal is to select a final alternative to request capital improvement funds.

This project is working in concert with the Cherry Creek Campus Traffic Signal Timing project which looks to evaluate and update traffic signal timing and operations in the area around the campus. The goal of the signal timing project is to reduce queueing for targeted movements and improve circulation around the campus.
